The first in a series that follows a similar sound. Songs influenced by the ‘80s but not new wave enough to simply fall under the synthpop umbrella. Made this just before a trip to New York in 2003. It was already retro on release — stamped with prefix Gibson would smirk at and burned to a compact disc. Untangled my headphones, hit play, and wandered while looking into empty lobbies. It rained, it was cold, I felt like an actor.
